Need a fire hood?

If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above. You'll need 4, one per speaker.

A ready-matched 4-speaker system: the WiiM Amp with 4 x Monitor Audio C1S in-ceiling speakers. Bought together it costs £1,279, against £1,355 for the parts separately.

What's in the box

  • 1 x WiiM Amp (WiiM-AMP-S)
  • 4 x Monitor Audio C1S in-ceiling speakers

Speaker cable is not included.

Why this pairing works

  • The amp: 60W per channel into 8 ohms with AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, HDMI ARC for your TV and a subwoofer output, all controlled from the WiiM Home app.
  • The speakers: 5" Monitor Audio Creator Series speakers with a C-CAM gold dome tweeter: four 8 ohm speakers cover an open-plan space or two rooms on the one amp.
  • Wiring: Wire two speakers to each channel in parallel (all four are 8 ohm, within the amp's rating).

Installation

See the Monitor Audio C1S page for the full specification. Check the cut-out diameter and mounting depth against your ceiling void before ordering, or use our free design service and we'll check your floorplan for you.
