If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.

Installation notes
The W1M requires a mounting depth of 85mm and a rectangular cut-out of 527 x 198mm, so check joist and stud spacing before cutting. A pre-construction bracket is available for new-build or renovation projects. For amplification, pair with a Sonos Amp, WiiM Amp, or any AV receiver capable of delivering 30-110W RMS into 8 ohms.
