You'll need an amplifier
These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier to power them (8Ω, 30–130W recommended). Either of these will drive a pair and stream music from your phone.
Need speaker cable?
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.

Installation notes
Cut-out is 201 x 210mm per the price list; confirm against the supplied template before cutting, as the manufacturer page does not list a cut-out figure separately. The ViseLock mechanism allows toolless fitting once the aperture is cut. The speaker carries an 8 ohm nominal impedance, so pair it with an amplifier channel rated for 8 ohm loads and check total impedance if used in multiples on one channel. A bezelless square grille is available separately if preferred over the supplied stainless-steel grille.

Questions we get asked
Does it come with a grille?
Yes. Every ceiling and in-wall speaker we sell comes with its grille in the box. Manufacturer photos often show the speaker with the grille removed so you can see the drivers, but the grille is always included.
Do I need an amplifier?
Yes. These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier or AV receiver to drive them. They're rated at 8Ω with 30–130W recommended amplifier power. For most rooms a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp is ideal: each drives a pair and streams from your phone. You can also buy a package with the amp included and save 5%.
Do I need a fire hood?
If there's a habitable room above (for example a bedroom), or the ceiling forms part of a fire escape route, Building Regulations require each speaker to be fire-rated, usually with a fire hood fitted over the back. Hoods also cut sound travelling to the room above. See all fire hoods.
How many speakers do I need?
As a rule of thumb: a pair for most bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms up to about 20m², two pairs for large open-plan spaces, and a single stereo speaker (T2 / stereo models) for small rooms like en-suites. For home cinema, use 5 or 7 speakers plus a subwoofer. Our free design service will plan positions and sizes from your floorplan.
Is it sold singly or as a pair?
Priced per speaker. Add the quantity you need; most rooms use a pair.
