If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The SpeakerCraft AIM282 Mk3 is a high-performance 8" in-ceiling speaker that combines a pivoting woofer with a four-tweeter ARC array, allowing sound to be precisely aimed at the listening area. Installation notes
The AIM282 Mk3 requires a round cut-out of 248 mm and an overall diameter of 280 mm, with a mounting depth of 152 mm behind the ceiling, so adequate ceiling void depth should be confirmed before installation. It presents an 8 ohm load rated at 150W, so should be paired with an amplifier capable of driving this impedance and power handling comfortably. The pivoting woofer and rotating tweeter array allow the sound to be directed towards the seating position once fitted, which is useful where the speaker cannot be mounted directly above the listener.
