Monitor Audio WSS430 Super Slim In-Wall Speaker
These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier to power them (8Ω, 10–120W recommended). Either of these will drive a pair and stream music from your phone.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The Monitor Audio WSS430 is the flagship model in the Super Slim in-wall range, bringing genuine high-fidelity performance to spaces where depth is at a premium. Designed for dedicated home cinema rooms, open-plan living areas and multi-room installations alike, it delivers a level of detail and power that belies its slender profile.
Why we like it
- Three dished C-CAM bass/mid drivers reduce distortion and improve rigidity for a cleaner, more controlled sound
- MPD high-frequency transducer, derived from Monitor Audio's Platinum II speakers, extends response beyond 50kHz with very low distortion
- Rotatable tweeter allows the speaker to be installed horizontally or vertically without compromising dispersion
- Magnetically attached, trim-less grille sits flush for an unobtrusive, paintable finish
- Tri-Grip dog leg fixings make for a secure, straightforward install in standard stud or masonry walls
Installation notes
With a cut-out of 346 x 101mm and a mounting depth of just 50mm, the WSS430 suits walls with limited cavity depth. Overall dimensions are 385 x 140.5mm, with a depth of 54.25mm including the grille. For best results, pair with an amplifier delivering between 10 and 120W, such as a Sonos Amp or a WiiM Amp, using a crossover around 100Hz for optimal bass performance.
