These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier to power them (6Ω, 200W recommended). Either of these will drive a pair and stream music from your phone.
Need speaker cable?
Outdoor runs need burial-grade cable. Allow about 10m per speaker for the pair. QED QX16/2 PE has a water and UV resistant jacket and can be buried without conduit.
The Monitor Audio Climate CL2 M is a mid-sized, two-way, wall-mountable outdoor speaker finished in White, supplied as a pair. Rated to IP66, it is equally suited to garden and patio installations as it is to interior spaces where a discreet wall-mounted speaker is required.

Installation notes
The Climate CL2 M is wall-mounted using the supplied die-cast 'Quik-Link' bracket system rather than being recessed into a ceiling or wall, so no cut-out dimensions apply. External dimensions with all accessories fitted are 332 x 190 x 240 mm (H x W x D). Each speaker has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 4.8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz) and a recommended amplifier power of 200W RMS on music signal, with continuous power handling of 100W; pair with an amplifier capable of driving 6 ohm loads. Supplied and sold as a pair.

Do I need an amplifier?
Yes. These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier or AV receiver to drive them. They're rated at 6Ω with 200W recommended amplifier power. For most rooms a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp is ideal: each drives a pair and streams from your phone. You can also buy a package with the amp included and save 5%.
How many speakers do I need?
As a rule of thumb: a pair for most bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms up to about 20m², two pairs for large open-plan spaces, and a single stereo speaker (T2 / stereo models) for small rooms like en-suites.
