KEF Ci130QS 5.25" Square Ceiling Speaker
If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The KEF Ci130QS is a 5.25" square in-ceiling speaker designed for discreet, high-performance audio in living rooms, kitchens, offices and multi-room installations. Built around KEF's renowned Uni-Q driver array, it delivers consistent, room-filling sound from a single point source, making it an excellent choice where ceiling space or speaker count is limited.
Why we like it
- Uni-Q driver array places the tweeter at the centre of the mid/bass cone for wide, even dispersion
- Weather-resistant build with moisture-resistant fixings, suitable for kitchens and bathrooms
- Ultra-thin square bezel with a paintable magnetic grille for a near-invisible finish
- On-board high-frequency adjustment lets you tailor treble output to the room
- Handles up to 100W, delivering clear, confident sound for background music or home cinema
Installation notes
Requires a square cut-out of 158 x 158 mm and a mounting depth of 77.9 mm, so check loft or ceiling void clearance before fitting. Overall speaker dimensions are 184 x 184 mm. As a passive speaker it needs an external amplifier - a streaming amp such as a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp pairs well for flexible multi-room control.
