Bowers & Wilkins CCM664 In-Ceiling Speakers
If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier (this listing is a pair). Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The Bowers & Wilkins CCM664 is a premium two-way in-ceiling speaker pair designed for those who want serious sound quality without visible hardware. Equally at home delivering background music in a kitchen or living room, or acting as surround and height channels in a dedicated home cinema, these speakers combine B&W's signature clarity with a genuinely discreet, flush-fit finish.
Why we like it
- 6-inch woven glass fibre bass/midrange driver for tight, natural low-end and midrange detail
- 25mm soft dome tweeter delivers smooth, extended high frequencies
- QuickDogs™ fixing system allows fast, tool-free, secure installation
- Paintable magnetic grille disappears into the ceiling once decorated
- Wide dispersion pattern suits larger or open-plan rooms
Installation notes
Each speaker requires a 202mm cut-out and a minimum depth behind the surface of 133mm, so check joist spacing and ceiling void clearance before fitting. The overall frame diameter is 240mm once the grille is in place. These speakers pair well with a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp for a simple streaming set-up, or with a dedicated AV receiver for multichannel home cinema use.
