These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier to power them (4Ω, 5–125W recommended). Either of these will drive a pair and stream music from your phone.
Need speaker cable?
Outdoor runs need burial-grade cable. Allow about 10m per speaker. QED QX16/2 PE has a water and UV resistant jacket and can be buried without conduit.
The SpeakerCraft OE6 One is a compact indoor/outdoor speaker from the Outdoor Elements series, built around a 6.5in woofer and pivoting silk dome tweeter. Its smaller footprint makes it a practical choice for patios, balconies or secondary outdoor spaces where a full-scale outdoor system isn't required.

Installation notes
The OE6 One measures H281 x W178 x D170mm, so allow sufficient mounting space and depth behind the installation surface. With a 4 Ohm impedance, check amplifier compatibility before connecting multiple speakers per channel. As a 2-way design with a pivoting tweeter, aim the tweeter toward the listening area for optimal imaging.

Do I need an amplifier?
Yes. These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier or AV receiver to drive them. They're rated at 4Ω with 5–125W recommended amplifier power. For most rooms a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp is ideal: each drives a pair and streams from your phone. You can also buy a package with the amp included and save 5%.
How many speakers do I need?
As a rule of thumb: a pair for most bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms up to about 20m², two pairs for large open-plan spaces, and a single stereo speaker (T2 / stereo models) for small rooms like en-suites. For home cinema, use 5 or 7 speakers plus a subwoofer. Our free design service will plan positions and sizes from your floorplan.
Is it sold singly or as a pair?
Priced per speaker. Add the quantity you need; most rooms use a pair.
