Monitor Audio CSM-BOX MDF Back Box for Small/Medium In-Ceiling Speakers
The Monitor Audio CSM-BOX is an MDF back box designed to enclose small and medium in-ceiling speakers from the Creator Series, Basics and All Weather ranges. It is intended for installers and homeowners who want improved bass performance and reduced sound leakage into the room above when fitting ceiling speakers into open voids or between floors.
Why we like it
- Provides a sealed enclosure for more consistent, controlled bass from compatible in-ceiling speakers
- Reduces sound transfer into the ceiling void or room above, useful for multi-room or multi-storey installations
- Supplied with both Small and Medium Ring (Fitted) adapters, which can be fitted or removed as needed
- Wide compatibility across Monitor Audio's C1S, C2S, C1M, C2M, C2M-T2X, C3M, C165, C165-T2, AWC265 and AWC265-T2 models, plus previous 6.5" in-ceiling speakers
- Robust MDF construction adds structural rigidity to the installation
Installation notes
The CSM-BOX is fitted above the ceiling line to enclose the rear of the compatible speaker before it is mounted into its cut-out. With all accessories fitted, external dimensions are 500 x 350 x 160mm; without the adapter rings fitted, dimensions are 350 x 350 x 160mm. The box weighs 4.3kg, so ensure the ceiling void and fixings can support this additional load alongside the speaker itself. Select the Small or Medium Ring adapter to match the specific speaker model being installed, as listed in the compatibility notes. This is a back box only and does not include the speaker, amplifier or cabling; pair with the appropriate compatible Monitor Audio in-ceiling speaker and a suitable amplifier as specified for that model.
