Need speaker cable?
Outdoor runs need burial-grade cable. Allow about 10m per speaker for the pair. QED QX16/2 PE has a water and UV resistant jacket and can be buried without conduit.
The Monitor Audio Climate 60 is a rugged pair of outdoor speakers built to deliver genuine hi-fi sound in gardens, on patios, around pools, or across commercial outdoor spaces. Housed in a sealed, high-density polypropylene enclosure with rust-proof aluminium grilles, this speaker is engineered to shrug off rain, sun and daily wear while still sounding superb.

Installation notes
These are bracket-mounted surface speakers rather than flush ceiling or in-wall units, so no cutout is required. Overall dimensions are 325 x 185 x 178.5 mm, with a total depth of 235 mm once the bracket is fitted. An anchor point is provided for a security chain, useful in semi-public or exposed locations. A compact streaming amplifier such as a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp pairs well, offering plenty of headroom within the 15-100 W recommended range.

Do I need an amplifier?
Yes. These are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier or AV receiver to drive them. They're rated at 8Ω with 15–100W recommended amplifier power. For most rooms a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp is ideal: each drives a pair and streams from your phone. You can also buy a package with the amp included and save 5%.
How many speakers do I need?
As a rule of thumb: a pair for most bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms up to about 20m², two pairs for large open-plan spaces, and a single stereo speaker (T2 / stereo models) for small rooms like en-suites.
