KEF Ci130QR 5.25" Round In-Ceiling Speaker
If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier. Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The KEF Ci130QR is a compact 5.25" in-ceiling speaker built for anyone wanting genuine KEF hi-fi performance without a visible speaker on show. It suits living rooms, kitchens, home offices and multi-room installations where discreet, high-quality sound matters more than a visible cabinet.
Why we like it
- Uni-Q driver array delivers a single point-source of sound for consistent coverage across the room
- Tangerine waveguide sharpens treble detail and extends dispersion
- Ultra-thin bezel and magnetic grille sit almost flush with the ceiling and can be painted to match any décor
- Gold-plated terminals resist corrosion for a long-lasting, reliable connection
- Weather-resistant construction adds flexibility for use in humid rooms
Installation notes
The Ci130QR requires a 158mm diameter cut-out and a mounting depth of 77.8mm, with an overall depth of 83mm including the grille. It pairs well with a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp for simple streaming setups, or with a dedicated multi-channel AV amplifier for whole-home audio. Always confirm ceiling void depth before cutting.
