Bowers & Wilkins CCM632 3" In-Ceiling Speaker
If the ceiling has a bedroom or other living space above it, or is part of an escape route, building regulations require each speaker to have a fire hood. Hoods also cut sound leaking into the room above.
Allow about 10m per speaker for a typical run back to the amplifier (this listing is a pair). Webro 16/2 LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen) is the right cable for runs in ceilings and walls.
The Bowers & Wilkins CCM632 is a compact in-ceiling speaker from the acclaimed Performance Series, ideal for background music and distributed audio in living rooms, kitchens, offices, shops and restaurants. Sold as a pair, it brings B&W's studio-honed engineering to discreet whole-home installations.
Why we like it
- Single 75mm full-range paper cone driver delivers a balanced, coherent sound without crossover distortion
- Remarkably slim profile with minimal protrusion for a near-flush ceiling finish
- Integral enclosure controls resonance and reduces sound transfer to rooms above or below
- ZipDogs fixing clips make for fast, secure fitting into most ceiling thicknesses
- Round and square magnetic grilles included, both paintable to suit your decor
Installation notes
Each CCM632 requires a 120mm cut-out and approximately 100mm of depth behind the ceiling surface, with only 5.5mm protruding once fitted. The integral back box means no separate enclosure is needed. For multi-room background music, these speakers pair neatly with a Sonos Amp or WiiM Amp, giving straightforward streaming control over several zones at once.
