With under 36mm of depth required above the ceiling line, it's a great fit for apartments, period properties with shallow joists, or any renovation where retrofitting a conventional speaker simply isn't possible. Equally at home in kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces, it works well for background music, multi-room audio and more serious home cinema surrounds.

Why we like it

Remarkably slim sub-36mm mounting depth opens up installs in tight ceiling voids

115mm (4.5in) flat MF driver paired with KEF's Tangerine Waveguide for detailed, wide-dispersion sound

Rigid aluminium baffle keeps distortion low and clarity high

Fully paintable magnetic grille disappears into any ceiling colour

IP64 rated for use in bathrooms, kitchens and covered outdoor areas

Installation notes

The Ci160TR requires a 196mm diameter cut-out and under 36mm of mounting depth, making it ideal for shallow ceiling voids and retrofit projects. The speaker has an overall diameter of 234.6mm, so ensure adequate ceiling space around the cut-out for the bezel and grille. For simple background music, pair with a compact streaming amplifier such as a WiiM Amp; for multi-room or app-controlled setups, a Sonos Amp is a strong match given the speaker's 8 Ohm impedance and 100W peak handling.

Specifications

Power Handling

100W (Peak)

Frequency Response

115Hz - 20kHz (±6dB)

Impedance

8 Ohms

Driver Configuration

115mm (4.5in) Flat MF Driver, 25mm HF Driver

Overall Diameter

234.6mm

Mounting Depth

Under 36mm

Cut-Out Dimensions

196mm Diameter

IP Rating

IP64

Weight

1.3 kg
